so i may be aquiring a 2007 jeep liberty sport. I already know some are goin to bash me for getting the 4x2 but thats what i can afford and wont be doing and major off roading (moutains, rocklimbing etc.) since i live in florida, actually got a really great deal imo $10,000 and only 41,000 miles! thats besides the point, i eventually wanted to get a lift kit and maybe some fog light's etc. has anyone done work with jeepinbyal.com? it seems legit and i was just seeing your opinions! thanks everyone!

Welcome to the forum.

As to the 2wd/4wd thing, no bashing, just thoughts. The 2wd costs less because it is 2wd so it seems like a good deal. If it were 4wd it would cost more and also be worth more when sold.....(well usually unless someone beat the crap out of it or something) Besides, if you are planning a lift maybe reconsider 4wd because a year after you buy a 2wd and are ready to install the lift and bigger tires you will wish it was 4X4 and not be happy with it?? Whatever you get you will be living with it until it is paid off at least so you want to be happy with it.

No bashing, just thoughts. Don't forget the pics.

Cool. I love my Sport, although I've added some fun features since I bought it... it's kind of a "Super-Sport" now with upgraded trim, wheels & tires, EVIC, and an iPod plug.

JBA is good to go. They have a good reputation, and a fair number of people use Al's arms on their lifted (or unlifted) KJs. OME has a solid reputation as a suspension upgrade, and the Frankenlift is also popular (it uses OME and Rancho parts.)

4x2 only is cool if you use your Jeep as a daily driver. You probably won't ever miss having 4wd on the roads, especially down South. If you ever need more traction, a Detroit True-trac or a locker (ARB or Detroit) is a good mod for your drivetrain. You could probably do some light offroading with that setup and good tires.

However, if you're buying it with intent to drive off-road, I highly recommend 4wd. Also, if you lift, bigger and/or better tires are something that almost always follow. Lots of discussion around here on that subject. You can get several thousand $$$ into modifications VERY quickly, so be careful!

Least no cv s to worry about. Now you can get really carried away.

JBA has great stuff and everything you need. Upper contol arms are excelent. Enjoy your new ride.

Good job getting that unit, great choice, however seeing as you have had an elantra, you will see quite a difference in the fuel economy 2wd notwithstanding. see how it is in a year or so.
