I checked my belt wear indicator and it's over an inch indicating the belt should be replaced order to the FSM & Haynes. I checked the pulleys on my tensioner and the passenger side pulley is ~3in/76mm and driver side is ~3.5in/90mm. I've had no issues or noises that would indicate an issue with the belt. Mine is a 2002 Liberty Limited w/ Tow Package.
From previous threads:
"What I found out is:
- If you have the smaller tensioner (pulleys are the same size, 3 inches)
- You will need the shorter belt. It measures 86 3/8 inches
- If you have the larger tensioner (pulleys are different sizes, I believe
one is 3 inch and the other is 3.5 inches.)
- You will need the longer belt. It measures 87 1/4 inches."

My questions:
1. I want to confirm the pulley on the driver side of the tensioner is what I'm concerned about for belt sizing. I intend to order the Gates 87 7/8 belt. The prices I can get from Rock Auto are much better than local so I want to order the right one the first time. The How To thread labels the passenger side pulley as the tensioner pulley: http://www.jeepkj.com/forum/f202/how-change-serpentine-drive-belt-3-7l-34385/.
2. What are some indications of a tensioner going? The belt seems to be running nicely with no wobbles.
3. Can anybody confirm with first hand knowledge? Despite the part number there still seems to be some uncertainty in the various threads.
