Thank you I’m spending some money in suspension components, skid plates, fluids and a full tune up. Planning on keeping it for a long time.

Someone took really good care of that KJ. Good find.
The KJ and to some degree the KK are (IMO) some of the last true (non-wrangler) 4wds. Comparables like the Nissan Xterra and and Toyota FJ are also gone. But I like the KJ for its size and mechanical simplicity and overall ease of maintenance/repair/parts availability.

Thank you, I already replace water pump, thermostat, coolant reservoir, serpentine belt, tensioner, spark plugs, all the fluids and the whole suspension plus a BDS lift kit instead of the spacers she had. Next will be a TransGo shift kit and leather seat covers.

I've also replaced nearly every single accessory on my KJ... it's kinda like a labor of love. I just tell people "hey, it's a Jeep - easy to work on because they KNEW you would have to!"
I also installed the shift kit (45rfe trans), firmed up the shifting a bit, but not significantly (i didn't install the resistor). It did however, help significantly with downshifts and under WOT conditions. Just don't expect a tire-chirp from 1st to 2nd. Very worthwhile driveability upgrade though.

After installing the whole front end and BDS lift kit. Very pleased with the results. Now it’s 21.5 inches from the center of the wheel to the bottom of the wheel well front and back.

Out of curiosity, do you notice that post lift your rear cat is angled down near the muffler?

I have the same issue and now the cat is getting dings/dents from offroad debris etc. It has become one of the lowest points (and def the most vulnerable) under the chassis. A quick exhaust shop trip would fix that easily in any place except CA and NY - the front "Y" is part of the cat system and can't be touched UNLESS you are welding in a new rear cat.

That thing looks like it just rolled off the factory line! Where did you find it? Definitely not Michigan lol

It’s a Florida vehicle, bought it from the original owner with 118,000 miles. Paint and interiors are in need of attention but everything else is in top shape. Btw the BDS kit is a good 2 inch lift kit for the price. Includes the springs, the top offset plate for the front so you don’t need to install aftermarket clevis, the kit comes with a set of good shocks for the rear. You will need to buy new front shocks ( I got KYB). I bought the kit at Amazon for around $440 to my door.
