Thank you I’m spending some money in suspension components, skid plates, fluids and a full tune up. Planning on keeping it for a long time.

Someone took really good care of that KJ. Good find.

The KJ and to some degree the KK are (IMO) some of the last true (non-wrangler) 4wds. Comparables like the Nissan Xterra and and Toyota FJ are also gone. But I like the KJ for its size and mechanical simplicity and overall ease of maintenance/repair/parts availability.

Thank you, I already replace water pump, thermostat, coolant reservoir, serpentine belt, tensioner, spark plugs, all the fluids and the whole suspension plus a BDS lift kit instead of the spacers she had. Next will be a TransGo shift kit and leather seat covers.

I've also replaced nearly every single accessory on my KJ... it's kinda like a labor of love. I just tell people "hey, it's a Jeep - easy to work on because they KNEW you would have to!"

I also installed the shift kit (45rfe trans), firmed up the shifting a bit, but not significantly (i didn't install the resistor). It did however, help significantly with downshifts and under WOT conditions. Just don't expect a tire-chirp from 1st to 2nd. Very worthwhile driveability upgrade though.

After installing the whole front end and BDS lift kit. Very pleased with the results. Now it’s 21.5 inches from the center of the wheel to the bottom of the wheel well front and back.
