I'm gonna need some new wheels and tires once I install my JBA 2.5" lift. I've picked out 265/70R16 Wrangler DuraTracs for the tire. I hate spacers, so I'd like to find something with a 4.5" backspace, preferably 16x8.5 or 16x9.

EDIT: Nevermind, I think I found my wheels and tires. Moved up to 17x8 wheels, and 265/70R17 Wrangler DuraTracs.

NOOOOOO :thumbsdown::icon_lol:

stick with 16 X 7 with 4 inches of backspacing
or 16X8 with 5 inches of backspacing
No, 9 inch wide wheels too wide
plus with that size tire you're going to need 4 inches of lift and a regear
2.5 inches of lift stick with 265-70-16s on correct sized wheels or 245-75-16s basically both same height

The regear is already in the works. Yukon 4.10s are on the way. Eaton LSDs are on the list, too.

All other measurements being nearly equal, the extra half-inch of radius makes that big of a difference? What kind of trimming would be necessary to stuff the 265/70r17 into a 2.5" lift?

Yes it does
start with pinch weld pound it over ( after opening up fenderliner)
245-75-16s are close so another almost 2 inches overall will make a difference for sure

What do you think of 265/65r17 on 17x8, 4.45" backspacing? Cause I really like the wheels I found, and the 16" version is a lot deeper.
