Hi all I got a question for ya. I got bored the other day and took a good look at my carfax report. At 64,000 miles it says a Jeep dealer preformed recommended factory maintenance. The big thing I want to know is if they changed the spark plugs because if they did I won’t have to worry about that for a little bit. To get to the point if I call this dealer will they still be able to tell me what they did at 64,000 miles?

They might be able to tell you but you could just as easily check them yourself. The only plug that is a little difficult to get to is the passenger side back one. Other than that they are easy to do. I did mine with help from Digger last weekend.

How many miles do you have on it now, if you are 80,000 or over time for a chnage anyways

They are easy to do and they are cheap. $12, your favorite album, and an hour to take your time and you're done. I'm sure plenty of people here have done them in 10-15 mins.

I know my plugs are good.
I only got like, ohhh, like 500 on my plugs.

Go to the dealer that did the maintenance and have them print out all of the work orders they have on file.

I did this with mine today at lunch. Went to the dealer where the previous owner bought and had his jeep serviced. They asked to see my registration paper to confirm was I owner and then proceeded to print out pages among pages of work orders. Now I know exactly what was done and when.

I was sure they would of said something like "No sorry we can't divulge that information since it was under the previous owner's name". But they did not.

I showed up, told them I bought the Jeep used at another dealer, but that the Jeep was bought new here though and was probably serviced here. I asked the guy if he could print me out all of the work orders he had on file.

He asked for to my registration paper(which has my name and vin number on it). He looked at it and said ok and then printed the whole maintenance record.(biggthumpup)

So I have all the records from the day the previous owner bought it to now. Pretty sweet. Gotta love buying from a Chrysler/Dodge/Jeep dealer!

Ten to fifteen minutes is a little ambitious. I mean, it's gonna take you several minutes just to lay out the tools and unbox the new spark plugs. I'm in the camp that doesn't remove the tank, I only remove the intake hose and use a combination of extenders and swivel connectors to undo that back passenger-side one. Plus you'll want to blow/vacuum out the dust from the plug shaft first. Plus apply ant-sieze compound.

All in all, it may take you 1/2 an hour from end to end if you're really fast. But your general point stands. It's easy to do.

I don't think my dealer replaced the plugs and I had the 5 year prepaid service plan. I changed mine last summer- and when I pulled 'em, they looked awfully OEM to me.

well I called the dealer and they said the only way they can show me the records is if I show up in person and show the title. Well screw that I"m not driving all the way to Philly for that. So I guess I'm gona have to change my spark plugs. It should be fun since I've never done it before

Shouldn't be too hard to do I have done it on every vehicle I have ever owned but this one. I don't need no stinking spark plugs.
