Low washer fluid

I got a "low washer fluid" message this morning when I started up my Libby.
I had the reservoir filled a few days ago, so it was atleast 3/4 full.
Filled it up again, but still got the warning message when I started up again.

Any ideas?

I was thinking about cleaning up the sensor, but don't tell me I have to get the bumper off to get to that[-o<

What Year KJ?

That is annoying when you get message like that.
It would help if you filled in your Liberty Info into Stats.

Sounds like the sensor... Start it up and turn the wheels all the way to the left and then shut it off, reach in through the foglight bulb door in the wheel well liner on the passenger side, you can just reach in there and pull the sensor out, its just pushed into a grommet.

Just pull the sensor out and disconnect it, now that your reservoir is full your going to be dumping washer fluid everywhere though. You could always disconnect the line going to the front washer fluid nozzles and put that into a bottle or jug and then run the washer fluid pump to pump down the reservoir before swapping the sensor.

It's not easy, its a PITA to get to, but you don't have to remove the bumper.

I think he has an 05-07 KJ. No fog light doors in the wheel wells. But hopefully the sensor is in the same place

Chief was right I have a 05 sport so no fog light doors..
'll have a look and be back with photos in a couple of hours!

Just finished reading the service manual.
It looks like I have to remove the pasenger's wheelhouse splash shield in order to get to the washer fluit level switch.

The manual says that the level switch can not be repaired, ,but I'm hopping its only dirty and needs some cleanning. Will keep you posted

Ahh bummer.. Didn't know you had an 05'.

I would look around underneath and in the engine compartment down in that corner, just to see if there is any chance of reaching it another way. Where there is a will there is a way!!

But if you decided to tear it apart i would buy a replacement and have it on hand so you can swap it once you got it all torn apart, because most likely its shot.

No leaks for sure, bottle is still full.

The way I see it there is no way I can avoid removing the splash shield, (or atleast a part of it).

I will start from the side nearest to the front thinking that I might be able to squeeze my hand in and get and avoid remooving the entire shield.

On the other hand, I was thinking that since I will be getting my hands on the splash shield, I might as well remove the entire thing and get the pinchwelds cut/pounded, just incase I opt for bigger tires in the future.

Have already been asking arround for sensor prices kb0nly. Good idea.

By that way, as I was pocking arround the water bottle area I found aloose connector. You can see it right in that middle of tha photo.

Hmm... Not sure on the loose connector, must be for an option you don't have? It's not the washer fluid sensor connector i know that much for sure, wrong type and in the wrong location.
