Looking @ Rusty's front struts before install and .....?

The threads(on both struts) are slightly smashed not allowing the nut to pass that point. Will the nut re-thread it when torqued down?

Use a nut that is the same thread size and run it up n down a few times. Use a little oil to lubricate it.

I think You can pick up a cheap set for around 40 bucks or so from Sears. I am pretty sure you can buy the individual die from them as well.

If you spend the money on a decent tap n die set. It will pay for itself sooner or later ;)

Since it's just a few threads you could use a small file to clean the edges up a bit.

I chased the threads with a 10mmx1.5 die that I borrowed from someone...worked like a jem....
