Skids before lift, just to protect the merchandise. Curious on the lift for $600, which parts are those? With OME/Rancho along with extended bumpstops, you're looking at at least $700 after the alignment (probably more).

Just throwing that out there if it sways your decision at all...good luck :).

The only skid I'm getting is the fuel tank one, because the tank is plastic.

2" lift and BFG's are first though

You'll change your mind the first time your transmission takes a hit. ****** skid is way cheaper than a cooked trans.

I'm skidded from front to back ( split pan on ARB, Boiler's skid to fill the gap, front suspension/engine, trans, t-case and gas tank) and my trans skid has taken more dings than all the others combined. Crawling over rocks, getting high centered on stuff, hearing logs kick up underneath after driving over them, all things that could potentially dent or puncture/rip the trans pan, just to name a few.

But, do as you see fit or as your budget permits, this is only my opinion. Your KJ is not my ride home.

id have to say that engine and ****** ( looking at the marks under mine from my first offroad excursion) are teh two most important ones

my xfer case is tucked pretty high..

but the engine scoops mud and the ****** rides low

Skids.

I have put my stock skids to the test and they have held up pretty well. I do need to replace the trans skid though. I fawked it up pretty good.

If you lift it first you will be tempted to take 'er offroad, then you will jack stuff up.

I also have not read this entire thread, and might have regurgitated what someone already said, eghhh.

ya ive seen similar comments..
i bet those kinds of comments are made by rich people from Az or other like places with tons of offroad options..

i live in a corn field lol

If you live in a cornfield, a lift will probably do little for you.

Your front suspension skid will quit acting like a shovel.

How easy of an install was this I have the stock engine skid but love the look of this one!!
