Not to mention in the winter time your cowl gets full of snow and ice and your wipers wont go down all the way...

Take it from an ex-minivan owner, this first winter with the KJ and its not having a cowl to hide the wipers in was a blessing. Plus that van wouldn't heat up really good on defrost in the winter time until the snow blew or melted out of the cowling also. Just a poor design that does nothing but hide the wipers.

What on earth is the point of that? I've never seen one before...

Hide the wipers and supposedly increase aerodynamics as well... I know guys that had them on trucks, after winter hits they get frustrated and tear them off.

I have never seen one on a KJ. It is blocking your vents and most likely will just make your A/C and heater/defroster work harder. Just a snow collecter as mentioned. Not likely that it would save any fuel but probably use more actually.

Even if it did save fuel (doughtful) it cost over $100 so if you saved a dollar a week it would take you 2 years to break even. (52 weeks in a year x 2 years is $104 at a dollar a week).

Better to add the $100 to your locker fund or something...:D

Just some of my twisted thoughts....:D

I think its downright fugly...

I like how easy it is to clean the windshield and change the wiper blades. How would you change the blades with that on there? They wouldn't be able to fold out, you would have to turn the wipers on and shut off the key when they are up, then try to hold them out far enough to try and pull the blade off, etc...

From the web page:

Get the chopped look without the hassle. These Lund Industries Shadow wiper cowls give you that chopped look without the hassle.

It's so you can have that "chopped look" without the hassle.

Yeah, it would strictly be for peope who live in Phoenix or Tucson who have never experienced a flake of snow.

And for people who want that chopped look...without the hassle.

Or something.
