threw a CEL earlier today. referred back to here on how to check it, but didn't work for me. went to schucks, used their tool to pull up a P303. same one i had before right before my BCM went out.

before when it happened, i replaced all 6 sparkers. they looked quite nasty after 30K. went away after that. a couple weeks after that my BCM went out, so i'm not sure if this is a good precursor or not.

what do you think would make it pop back up after a month and a half? jeep runs fine as far as i can tell.

po303 is a cylinder #3 misfire, do see these from time to time. go to your local chrysler dealer and purchase a new set of ngk plugs and mopar combustion chamber cleaner, they should have tons of this in stock, with the engine at operating temps, remove your brake booster hose to the intake manifold and while the engine is running, spray the whole contents of the can into the intake manifold through the hose. careful not to stall the engine. let the car sit for approx. 15-20 minutes, then start the engine and hold the rpms up to 2800-3000 till the smoke cleares. this will set more dtc's and the check engine light will flash.(normal condition), let vehicle sit and cool off for a bit, replaced all six spark plugs and set gap to .040--- i recomend using ngk only. no platinum. have performed numerous repairs involving this on kj's and have never had one come back yet. found this is carbon building up on valves. the whole repair should'nt cost more than $30.00 for you guys that are out of warranty.
hope this helps.
