In the short term I am going to attend to all the normal rust and change all the fluids for winter, then maybe a mild lift (mainly to refresh the springs), nice summer tyres and a winch bumper/underside protection. Normal faire here I think.

I would also like to investigate roof tents for next summer.

For now I'll just have to get used to driving a 3.7l auto. My last car was 1275cc 4 on the floor!

I may also be blacklisted from my family; we have a tradition of Landrovers and Range Rovers (from Series II to the modern stuff) in Africa and Europe... buying a Jeep is heresy.
