So the Patriot needs a new rear wheel bearing. Wish the Jeep was home to do myself versus across the country.

I guess Jeeps are designed so bearings are a wear item. First thing I did when we got our used Liberty were the two front bearings. Patriot has less than 40K and its going. Seems from what I read, the right rear is a weak link -- common to go out.

Not just Jeeps

GM, Ford etc all have issues
have replaced them in everyone for customers and all say the same thing
"DANG ___________insert brand , are designed to wear out sooner than other models/brands "
Always makes me laugh
One of my KJs ( the 04 ) has over 160,000 on the Timkens I put in years ago

My OEM front hub bearings gave out at 170K within 1000 miles of each other. Not too shabby. Rear axle bearings still going at 190K. Good job Jeep!

Enough threads out there and statements that Jeep redesigned to kind of show the rear patriot mopar bearings were subpar. I have 2 jeeps not a jeep hater, but when a part is **** a part is ****.
