On another board something of this idea was posted. I loved the idea But, i had different ideas for the concept.
Here are pics of the mockup i have.
Monday will likely see time with a welder and CNC Plasma Table.
Cardboard cutout and first draw on scrap OSB
First Fit of OSB and Tracing hole in the front of the rack
Second Cutout
I then clamped them together and used a table belt sander to make sure they were shaped the same.
Then i Drilled 3 Holes within the area of the center hole i marked.
First mounting.
The inside appears to be verticle, however the outside is at a slight slope. NO big deal.
The finished product will be thinish steel 3/16 maybe ( whatever matt sais is best and is available). The design maybe shrunk a little to make it smoother along the lines of the rack.
On the inside of the bracket will be about 1" maybe 1.5" of 1/2" rod steel welded to it. with two holes drilled perpendicular. A sleeve will then go over that with one hole in it. In that hole will go a safety pin.
Here are pics of what i have so far for this.
90 degrees (up)
0 Degrees (down)
Im thinking either a clip pin or safety pin like this.
Also, on the sleeve will be another bit of pipe Making a T. Im thinking on that will either be a bolt added or nut, then to that will attach a CB spring. and the flag itself will go in that.
