Question for the masses,
Does anyone know if the rear mount on the front differential rotates?

I don’t know the answer to your question, but am curious why you want to drop the front differential. If it is because you are worried about CV angles with a lift, you needn’t be concerned. I have been running a 4” lift since 2012 (140,000 miles plus) and my CV’s have been fine. The lifted angle is no worse than the angle in the up direction that the CV’s were at with the sagged stock suspension before I lifted it.

Full disclosure,
Yes I am worried if I do lift the jeep 3-4". Building a coilover lift system modelled off the KK prerunner setup. Just doing some research.

I have seen the diff dropped on YouTube and such, but the guys on the forum who ran 4” lifts for 10 years or more, and who really wheeled their KJ’s and KK’s, didn’t need to do that.

The coilover setup is nice. I am running one (JBA 4” lift), which unfortunately is not made anymore. It would be good to have a real option for coilovers again. Definitely interested in your project.

Here’s a thread with info I’ve collected on the JBA coilover lifts:

Did you ever get a chance to measure your rear springs?
