Just wondering what people get for their intake temps with the stock intake. Mine seems to run too high now. I cleaned the IAT sensor with throttle body cleaner and think I fubared it. It usually runs about 15 - 20 degrees warmer than outside temps even after driving for long distances. Like today its 50 degrees out and its reading 75 or warmer usually. Thanks!!

The Intake air is high on mine, but it is the out side air temp that *****.That sensor needs to get moved further out, away from Rad. I think mine is always out to lunch by about 20+ like you stated, so I don't pay attention to it anymore.
The one I do like to monitor is the water temp. That is something valuable.

It really depends on the type of traffic, city/traffic/stoplights mine will read pretty high, but on the freeway I think it's about 15-20 higher than outside temp.

Libertytc my ambient temp is always dead on except when it's been sitting in the middle of the day in a parkin lot. But anyway it's the intake temp that I'm concerned about. Maybe the intake isnt as good as I thought it was. I think the sensor gets too much heat soak and takes forever to cool down. Maybe it shod be moved closer to the air box instead of right in front of the throttle body.

If the computer thinks it's 90 degree air coming in won't that make it run lean?
Just wondering.

Good Question maybe Troy can answer that one.
I have no idea what the programmed perimeters are regarding the temp/fuel mixture.
The intake sensor sits right ahead of throttle body intake and is influenced by rising heat from engine and trapped heat inside the intake hose.
The KJ does not really suffer from 87 octane lean pings too often. So, I assume overall things are going well re programming. I do run 94 octane when pulling boat though.

Mine runs about the same as yours according to my scangauge. (stock intake)
