Omg I’m shaking like hell right now. I almost got in deep shit tonight. As a lot of you know my KJ is only 2wd. I went off road tonight and almost got stuck in nasty mud. I was stuck for a little. Luckily I didn’t panic. I turned off the ESP and rocked it out of the mud by constantly switching between 2nd and reverse.

It took flooring it twice in reverse to get it out.

The KJ weirdly went out of control once I got it out. It took turning the ESP back on to get it to go straight. I don't know what that was all about.

I drove home really fast because I was nervous that somebody called the cops. I’m sure they did I was really loud.

Be glad if you got 4wd im sure it would of been a lot easier to get out. But I’m proud of my KJ because I don’t think many other 2wd’s would of made it out of that mess.

Check out the pics below!!!! It's time to head to the car wash before the parents see it.

Hay I have hung it out bad in four wheel drive too!
Now you got something to talk about.
If I may some helpful tips
Tires
A locker even more so for a 2x4 ( I have had 2x4 jeeps myself and it can be fun)
Never go alone, safety in numbers.
Snach strap and toe hooks front and rear.
And yes I too learned this the hard way in my earlyer wheeling days
One last thing COOL MAn

I was hopen its not trespassing

Save up and Get some AT tires, this would have made all the difference in the world.
Out of control after coming out, your tires have very little treads, and were packed with wet mud, offering little to no traction, until the treads clear.
This can be a real problem if the ground area is not level. A banked wet mud surface can also cause a slide sideways, ditches scare the crap out of me on these surfaces.
No harm done this time, sounds like a wake up call regarding your tires w/2WD.

Welcome to the 2WD Mudding Club :D I did the exact thing thing you did except in my case I actually did get stuck because the libby slid sideways and off into the ditch.. I had to dig almost 6 inches down into the mud to get under the axle in order to get something to attach to, to tow it out.. But a Locker will definitely help and get some Firestone A/T's or M/T's and run them at 245/70/16's.... Then you can do some mudding...not much but some..

It sounds like you were trespassing. Neither the off-roading community or this forum management condone trespassing.

Dave actually he could have been on an off country dirt road that belongs to the county or something.. People have called the cops on me for going down a public access road as well because they think I am doing something suspicious but really I am not its just their thoughts..

But if he was trespassing that ain't cool man, people like that give 4x4's and OHV's bad names it's because of this they are shutting down places to wheel..

aww come on guys. It's not like i was going through peoples front yards. If I see an empty lot/unplanted field I'm going through :D

Anyway I can't wait to get All Terrain Tires. I'm getting some on Tuesday. I think the crappy goodyears were the reason I almost got stuck.

Really doesn't matter if it's a front yard, or some acreage....it's still private property...

ditto.

Also, there are good legal places in Pa to wheel. There is Rausch Creek. There's places in the Alleghany Mountains, and more that I can't think of right now. Plus if you go over to Jersey, there is "The Pine Barrens". Google them and check them out.

Sorry but I have to disagree not only is it trespassing but it's destruction of property if he is in a farmers field. I guess you don't realize what you have to do to a field in order to fix ruts? Let's just say as an Uncle of a farmer I know that it costs quite a bit because you have to relevel the field, you have to get your tractor out (uses diesel which is high dollar) you have to then re-plow and what does all that cost? The time you have to put into it and cost of diesel/re-leveling crew if you can't do it yourself..

Personally if I was the farmer not only would your KJ be full of Shotgun holes but you would personally be out there fixing those ruts you left  Just a good thing it wasn't me :D

Better not let me catch you driving thru my field. People pay money for those things just like anything else. If you don't understand that I suggest you just stop while you're ahead.

he drove through a field, he almost got stuck, it scared the living piss out of him, he probly wont do it again, he was told we don't agree with people wheeling on private property.. its done and over with-

we're not bashing him, we're simply stating facts! of course we told him more than once, but that's how forums are- everyone needs to get their piece in lol

Just wondering but how would have 4wd made it any different? I mean the law is the law no matter what color/shape/form it is in
