How do you program homelink

Just like the title says. How do you program the homelink for the Garage door?
I tried looking found a few but they did not work when I tried them

Open the glove box and look at the slot at the top.. Your manual might be there

1. Turn off the engine
2. Erase factory test codes by pressing the two outside buttons. Release when the light in overhead begins to flash.
3. Place your regular garage remote within 1 inch of the buttons and push an hold both the regular remote and the button you want to program.
4. Once overhead light begins to flash rapidly, release buttons and you are good to go.
