I think my front passenger side wheel bearing or CV joint is bad. I was just wondering if anyone has replaced the Front CV axles and wheel bearings. I'm looking for a rough estimate on the time and difficulty. I have a weird, almost scraping noise, like it is coming from the brakes (it sounds kind of like a brake drum being turned down) but it never changes pitch of frequency. The only time it changes at all is if I hit a bump, which leads me to think it is a wheel bearing but I don’t have any wobble or vibration just the noise. I always thought that wheel bearings made more of a whirring noise, with quite a bit of vibration but since this is a jeep, well you know. I’m going to do some inspecting this weekend once it warms up a little, because I don’t have a heated garage and right now it has only warmed up to a balmy 18 degrees. Any thoughts?
