Well, I just got an 06 libby and I picked up a used JVC KDLH1000 HU for it for a cheap price.

A couple questions..
Would it be fairly easy to install myself? (little knowledge of electronics)
Will it even fit my KJ?

this one?

yes it will fit, you will need face adapter and wiring harness.
Also if it didn't come with the sleeve, you will need to get a hold of a sleeve.

it is fairly easy to install it mechanically, but electrically you have to make sure all wires are matching, that's why it is always best to get wiring harness for Jeep Liberty then connect it to the receiver harness instead of hardwiring the jeeps wiring.

You will definitely need

Face Adapter that fits most HUs: (check opening dimensions please) http://www.crutchfield.com/S-vrRsML0avNh/cgi-bin/prodview.asp?i=120996503&s=0&cc=01
and
Wiring Harness for Jeep: http://www.crutchfield.com/S-vrRsML0avNh/cgi-bin/prodview.asp?i=120706502&s=0&cc=01

and most likely an antenna adapter (check the back of the unit if it is MALE or FEMALE)

This will work fine, you probably have the sleeve with HU already.

Just call crutchfield, that's my suggestion, tell them what you got and you need tools to install it.

Hey while you are at it, give them my referral number, and get $20 OFF!
code: pzu52-fk3z4-qdt2v

good luck.
