hey all,
my keys disappeared and im parked in a parking garage ($1.25/hour) its been there a day now. im in the process of trying to get a key made. Dealer says it could be a Skis key or a regular steely key. both show up on the vin...its an 04. Im thinking its not because the key head is black and im thinkin the s.k.i.s keys only have grey heads. Anybody know anything about this im not wanting to spend $100 if its not equipped? its a renegade btw
any replies welcome sad2.gif

I agree that it's not a transponder key. I would order up the black one. The key without the transponder won't start the car if you actually need the one WITH the transponder. Source: http://www.jeepsunlimited.com/forums/showthread.php?t=277078

Looks like you can get them cheap on eBay too...but doesn't look like that'll make it in time...
