I'm located in northern NJ. I actually did talk to one more mechanic today who came recommended, and he pointed me to a transmission specialist he trusts. Spoke with the specialist this afternoon and he mentioned the solenoid, etc. before I even did, and said he'd need to take a closer look, but he felt WORST case scenario was a $1700 rebuilding. That was such great news after hearing before that $1700 was best case! So, my Liberty and I are headed over there tomorrow. Wish us luck! Thanks again to everyone for all of your time and suggestions. I'll let you know how it goes!

Is he going to charge you for looking at it? It was one of the main reasons I do all the troubleshooting and 95% of the repairs myself, Labor and estimate charges are outragous.

what happened?

I am having the same code. Running about 2300 rpms at 65mph. I assume it is not locking up. Wanted to see if the solenoid would take care of it. I Just changed the fluid about 20K ago. Recently added Frankenlift and 245/75/16 tires. No problems til this. It is a 2002 sport with the 45rfe transmission.

When i changed the fluid, I noticed a Jasper sticker on the side of the pan, but can't find the Jasper tag number on the side of the transmission to call about warranty. Don't know when the transmission was swapped. I have had it for 18 months and 35K miles. It has 127,000 on it now.

Any Ideas?

The solenoid looks to be available for around $200 bucks. If I'm going to drop the pan, should I just wait til I have the solenoid and put it in too. Will it fix it?
