I used that mount from crutchfield plus my garmin mount.

Looks really good. I use one of those things on a daily basis at work to determine exact legal locations for cut blocks, oil & gas developments etc. Its a must these days as well a sat phone., Wouldn't leave home without one! I will take some pics of the one in my work truck that also works great and less work to install. Give me a couple days! \/

ok so dumb GPS question:

Mapquest has the long/lat mapping and I entered long 45.20102 lat -84.59509 and got the Cheboygan answer...how should I have entered it to get the right local??

There are many different ways to represent coordinates.

GPS coordinates (what I had displayed on the GPS)
Decimal Degrees
Degrees Minutes Seconds

Many, many, others. UTM, State Plane... Exc...

Most common would be Decimal Degrees & Degrees Minutes Seconds.

To get the right coords you would need to use a coordinate converter. To convert from GPS Coordinates to Decimal Degrees.

"GPS coordinates"
N45" 20.102
W84" 58.509

Become

"Decimal Degrees"
45.33503
-84.97515

OR

"Degrees Minutes Seconds"
45° 20" 06'
-84° 58" 30'
