The skid came with the hardware. No rust issues, but the Jeep has been Florida driven it's whole life.

It was easy to install, put the rear bolts in, slid it in, prop up the front part of the skid with a jack, tighten the rear, then the front. Took 20 mins max... :D

Thanks

ATOB, rust is just a little inconvenient... Mine is a 2004 and never got a hitch on it, i bought it 1 year ago and installed a hitch in october on it, imagine the rust in these winters and all .... Best thing instead of trying to brush the hole out is just get a tap kit and retap the hole with the exact same size tap as the hole is ... worked real fine for me.

So HJ, are you going to get the rest of the skids??

Oh, I meant to ask you before. Yours is an 05 ltd and so is mine, but mine came with the front skid from the factory and yours didn't have one?? Did it look like there might have been one on there before.......like maybe the original owner took it off or something??? Just curious.

HJ, which skid is next??

Don't forget the KJ gas tank is plastic. I have the OEM one and it is not as good as the aftermarket ones but it has taken a couple of hits and been ok. But I don't do any real hard rock crawling. Well, except for the rock that tried to eat my rock rail....haha

I'm thing the X fer case, or the ******...

I don't thing the gas tank has ever been hit by something enough to damage it. I might even go with one of Boiler's...

IMO gas tank would be the next most important, cant run without gas and that thing is plastic. Just throwing it out there.

I would do the transmission skid.

Yes, it would be most bad to puncture the gas tank... but, in all my time wheeling my kj, I've only ever hit that skid one time - out in Moab last year. Otherwise nothing ever touches it.

I hit the ****** skid and the engine skid most often on trails.

You can change your signature again now!!!(attn)

Yeah, I would do the trans skid next. That is the skid that takes the most beating for me also.

Looks a little dirty under your Jeep there. Are you getting lazy on me?
