Do they make a front mount hitch for the 2007 KJ 4x4?

I've been looking for one and have yet to come across any.

Thanks for any info. (website and part numbers would be great).

If you happen to have one installed on an '07 (or '05 and up I guess), feel free to add a pic to the post so I can see how it looks.

I want it so I can attach a winch to the front for those instances when I could use a little help. :)

Thanks

Clark

Good day,

I'm in the same boat as you my friend!
There is currently nothing commercially available.
There is a thread here on this forum regarding this very topic.
Somebody on the L.O.S.T. web site is manufacturing a limited number.
Me being in Canada makes for costly shipping etc. so that one is not an option for me unfortunately.

I'm just on my way out the door right now otherwise I would have gladly dug up that thread!
Someone else here will probably chime in to help you.

Cheers

Ry'

PM Landy on lostkjs.com and I am sure he would be able to help you with at least some measurements if he still has them. He's a good guy and helped out a lot of people.

if you're looking just to mount a winch, check out the Detours backbone piece as well. If I was adding a winch, that'd be the route I'd go. I think it's detoursusa.com or something.

Yes, that is a nice setup.
I just don't want the additional 89 pounds of my winch permanently attached to the front of my Jeep and have it subjected to all the elements of year round driving, less fuel economy and added wear and tear on the front suspension.

You can get springs that will hold that no problem. Its like hauling around a small kid all the time. Heck, sliders weigh more than that.

Detours is moving and when I spoke with him last week, he didn't have a shop to work out of yet. Sounds like it may be some time before the Backbone is available again. As for the weight with the synthetic line, My SuperWinch EPi9.0 with 125' of 5/16 AMSTEEL Blue weighs over 70 pounds.

I know I know, it's just the fact that I don't want a winch permanently mounted on the front of our Liberty.
Don't really need it in town and don't really want to drive around with a hockey card in the wheel saying "Look at me... Look at me... Look at me...I've got a winch, off road lights, and... So I'm a rugged, tuff, outdoors man! and I have a small penis.

Thanks everyone for the info.

I appreciate it. I'll have to check into some things and see what I want to do I guess.

Good day,

Yeah, I'm looking into the Amsteel synthetic line for my winch... It is Dutch after all!
Should shave a few pounds off!
I might just go and buy that universal hitch this weekend and see just how much work it will take to fit to the front of the kj.
