I'm usually a Thule guy, but I found these crossbars and thought I would give them a try. I'm very impressed with them, especially for the money. They clamp on tight, nice and low, and seem sturdy.

The only down side is that there are no locks. I might replace the plastic thumb screw bolts with some torx bolts or something in hopes of making any potential thieves pick an easier vehicle.

Here they are on my vehicle. The front one is perfect. I might trim an inch or two off of the rear, but it's fine as is.

Nice

I was just looking at the jeep ones, 250.00. I don't think so.
These are great thanks I just ordered a pair.

The add says 139 lbs load.

150#'s is about the max the Jeep roof rails can carry, so 130#'s capacity for these crossrails wouldn't affect the total if you use a basket and spread the weight. Heck, for fifty bucks I may just order a pair to have around.

I believe the paperwork said 150 lbs. The factory roof rails would break long before these bars would bend in my opinion.

Edit, oops, just saw this was already answered.

I just spent a couple hours on the internet looking at cross bars.
I read lots of reviews and thought about making my own, forget it.
For $57 shipped I ordered me a set. (actually for my wifes KJ)
Cant beat the price.
She is wanting a Rola roof basket.

We've had in excess of 200 lbs. loads on our roof rack and basket with the
factory roof rails over the last five years and ten months.
They are still going strong and are holding up really well.

My homemade rails are 46" long, these at 49.5" would stick out about 3.5" in the front and 5.5" at the rear.

Like Ry said, engineers use a safety factor knowing full well people will automatically exceed recommended levels (like him! hehe). If the manual says 130#'s max for the rails that doesn't mean you can't carry more weight. Might creak a little but who cares, it won't rip off the roof and take out the guy behind you.

Awesome! Please take some pictures of that once you get it installed. I'm considering the Rola basket too and want to see how it looks on these crossbars.

Here are some more pics of the crossbars installed. I have the overhang of the bars as close to perfectly centered on my roof rails as I could get them. I also have them pushed as far to the front and to the rear as they will go for now:

On my Thule bars, I would just hacksaw to the desired length and then shove the cap into the end. With these, the cap screws into the bar. I'm not sure if that's a threaded hole or self-tapping screw, so I'm not sure how hard it would be to reattach the cap if you cut it shorter.

I will post pictures as soon as I get them installed.

I like the low profile looks of the cross bars.
I dont think I will cut mine down.

It turns out it's a self-tapping screw.

I left the front as is and chopped a little off the back to even them up. I put a little spraypaint on the cut end and then drilled a small pilot hole for the screw at 1/4" back from the end.

Here is what they look like evened up with 2 5/8" of overhang. I also adjusted the spacing so that both bars are over the factory holes in the top of the roof rails:
