Factory SIRIUS Sat Radio

Is the factory sat radio built into the factory head unit or is it a seperate entity? I wonder this because I've been looking at aftermarket HU's that are "sat radio ready"; trying to see if the factory radio plugs into the new aftermarket HU.

Thanks. It seems the Sat Radio is seperate. I didn't actually see it when I was changing out my HU, but I noticed a small, ten-pin plug that plugs into the back of my HU...would anyone know if that is the Sat Radio connection?

The 10 pin connector could be for Sirius tuner or a cd changer

Thanks, Bob. I thought so... now I just have to find out if there is some sort of adapter for my new HU (or if its even compatible). :-k

I just found out from Crutchfield that our factory Sat Radio is not compatible with aftermarket HU's. Oh well... can't use the Sat Radio here anyway. (dunno)
