Hey everyone. I just purchased and installed an aux input to the factory radio on my 2004 Libby. I bought it at Crutchfield, see link below for the item. I could have bought a new head unit, but until the summer I am on a tight budget, and this was an easy option as it only cost just under $80, with shipping. It sounds very good and was a breeze to install. I routed the cable and the box unit to a position under the front passenger seat (I'll post pics when I get a chance).
It has two inputs, so I run my iPod and XM with it. The Factory radio sees it as the 6th cd, and you can switch between two inputs by selecting track 1 or 2, very nifty because you can leave the devices plugged in all the time.

It does not charge your ipod for you, but I was not really worried about that since I have a 200w inverter, so I could just plug the ipod directly into an ac outlet and let it charged that way.

or: Item #581DFCHR if the above link does not work.

This if for 5G iPods but Belkin makes it for the other ones. With this unit you can plug your RCA cables from the aux input device to the Belkin device. It will then plug directly to your iPod and charge it. I have one for my iPod mini and it does not reduce sound quality. It even has an adjustable amplifier control to make things louder (that's because the volume gets disabled on the iPod itself).

Do you lose the use of your other five disc positions on the cd changer when this is installed?

If you already have a factory cd changer or, factory installed sirrius radio
it will not work because this device plugs into that input opn the back of your head unit.

Here's the same thing, but in white (and in stock!)

I prefer the options that don't require me to control the music on the iPod screen. That's just asking me to get into a car accident scrolling around looking for a song.

I just bought the new Mopar Ipod controller that works with radios on '05s and '06s. According to the instruction book that came with it, yuo will be able to flip through playlists, artists, etc. using the factory radio (and steering wheel) controls.

Edit: installed last night. Read my notes here --

most oredered the stuff seen here

a lot have been happy w/ it.

It seems to me that it says it does not work for RBQ radios, yet the thread seems to say it does ???

Can someone clear this up for me, as I want to get a Sat. radio going.

BTW, the forums are going to be a great resource for my new Liberty.

Thanks

Mark
