I just installed an EVIC from a 2002 Grand Cherokee (56042749AF) on my son’s 2002 Liberty, and it is not keeping some of the programming I have done thru the EVIC. I programmed the “Remote Unlock Driver’s Door First” and the “Headlamp Delay = 90 Seconds” using the EVIC, but a little while later, it is not working as programmed. I do it again, and later, it is back to the way it was before. Other options are working correctly, like “Horn on Lock” or “Flash light with Locks”. Does anyone have any ideas? Btw, I could never have done this project, without the help from this great forum.

Are you sure you have it hooked up to a constant power and not one that goes dead when the Jeep is shut off? Sounds like whenever you're shutting it down, it's going back to it's default functions...as if you were disconnecting the battery.

That sounds plausible, but according to the doc Installing an OTIS / EVIC into a KJ
For the remaining wire (Blue/White), simply find a wire that is only receiving power (is "hot") when the ignition is turned to "on". Use a test light to find a wire and splice the blue/white wire into it.
That is what I did.

When I installed my EVIC I got lazy and wired both the BATT and ACC to the battery and quickly realized that it would slowly drain my battery dead after sitting in the driveway for a week

Now I have it properly wired however occasionally it switches from English to US measurements  It doesn't lose it's programming. If I'm not mistaken that's actually stored somewhere else like the PCB.

Maybe it's a compatibility issues between the Cherokee & the Liberty PCMs.

The reading lights work when the car is running, and not. If there is an incompatibility issue between the Liberty and Cherokee, I would think it would have been documented by now. I specifically chose an EVIC from the same year, to mitigate any issues. This is a puzzle.

I had the same issue with my 02 also, IIRC the only "functions" that i could change with the evic were the lights flashing, door unlock pattern, and horn chirp. everything else (headlight delay, etc) wont work.

I tried disconnecting the battery, thinking it may cause the options to be saved in memory, but no joy. I am wondering if I have the dealer set the door lock and headlight delay, it might stay, but I don’t think that will work, since it was set before I installed the EVIC.
