I apologize if this has already been discussed but I couldn't find it anywhere.

I have a '07 Jeep Liberty. The check engine light has been on since last spring and it idles a little rough. I changed the plugs and wires but it didn't help.

Last week I was driving about 45mph when my RPMs bottomed out and it lost power for a few seconds. It recovered quickly but then my ESP light was on plus the check engine light flashes now.

It still seems to run the same as it did before.

Any advice?

Go to autozone or any other parts store and have them pull the codes. Most places will do it for free.

The codes will tell you exactly what triggered the light and then you can work on those issues.

If there wasn't any change after changing the plugs AND the check engine light is flashing with a loss of power, I would best on your O2 sensors being bad.

AFAIK flashing check engine is pretty bad. Means active misfire. Don't drive it like that.
