P4M said:The electric "superchargers" or "turbos" on Ebay are complete ******** and in most cases can cause damage to your vehicle.
First of all, these devices don't provide any boost from their meager, plastic fan blades. In most cases they restrict airflow. In some cases when they physically fail, they cause serious damage to engine.
Second, if you read many of these Ebay ads, the guys posting them don't know anything about cars / trucks. One of the dumbest things I have read:
** BMW Z3 2.8 - 3.0 electric supercharger. NEVER WORRY ABOUT BENT RODS.
Any guy that is a legit seller knows that not only BMWs, but the majority of imports run overhead cam engines. That means there are NO VALVE LIFTER RODS. The cams are in direct contact with the valve lifters.
Total waste of money. There is a reason REAL turbo and supercharge kits aren't $50.
