I have had this clunking from around 10-20,000km, but lately it seems to be getting worse. It sounds like a loose wheel or ball joint, but I have checked most likely culprits. The sway bar bushings are all good and all the nuts and bolts are tight. No perceptible play in the LBJ or wheel bearing.
I fitted OME springs and shocks all round with Al's A arms at 74,000km and the noise was the same after fitting. I changed the lower strut bushing in the LCA as the rubber looked overly squashed, no change in noise.

Any ideas?

After dismantling the front suspension, I found that the shock top nut was not fully tightened. When I fitted the OME springs and shocks I had to go to a mechanic with suitable spring compressors as mine aren't up to the job for Jeep springs.
I hit it with the impact wrench and it did tighten up a couple of turns. To fully tighten the nut I had to use a 6mm spanner on the end of the piston shaft then tighten the nut.

The strange thing is that I had the same noise before I changed to OME.
