Hi All! I've found lurking these forums to be wicked helpful, but now I've run into a problem I can't solve just by lurking.

I have an 06 Liberty Sport with abs that is acting up. ESP/BAS, ABS and traction control lights are on. I bought a scanner and read the codes, I get code C1020 - Left Rear Wheel Speed Sensor circuit. I have also hooked it up to an expensive Snap-On scanner and confirmed that the ABS module is getting readings from all the other wheel speed sensors.

So far, I have replaced the left rear wheel speed sensor, and confirmed that there is power running to that sensor. After doing a lot of reading and searching my theory is that the 2nd wire to the left rear sensor (the one that sends the info to the ABS module) is broken internally somewhere, probably around connector C307.

I followed the troubleshooting guide for ABS that is frequently posted around here but was unable to find connector C307 after lifting the rear seat up and removing the carpet. I was able to find an 8 pin connector that was not C307 that was attached to the back of the ridge that the seats bolt down to.

Can anyone give me a better description of where C307 is or any other troubleshooting ides? Thank you so much!!

Have you checked the tone ring? If it's broke or loose the sensor will show being bad.

Or just rusted or full of mud the sensor won't pick it up

Hey, thanks for the response! I have looked at the tone ring, it appears to be in one piece and free of any obstructions. I didn't count the teeth, that is something I will do soon.

Here's a pic of the connector I'm talking about.... I think they moved C307 in the '06 Libertys?

This is behind the driver's seat, under the rear seat attached to the back of the ridge under the seat. Is this the right connector?

Service Manual states that C307 is Light Green and is in the Left Lower B Pillar.

Awesome, thank you!! Out of curiosity, where do I find info like this in the service manual? I see the wiring diagrams and ABS troubleshooting but no connector descriptions. Thanks!

OK assuming you have downloaded your year KJ Service manual from:Index of /manuals/Jeep/KJ

Then the Wiring Diagram has a "Component Locations" section. At the end of this section is a section that gives the locations of Connectors, Ground points , Splices etc.. here you will see the locations of the connectors, Ground Points etc. usually with diagrams.

Thanks for the help everyone!

I found out the connector I was looking at is c307 (mine had an extra pin in the connector for some reason... weird). I found that there were broken wires going to the left rear ABS sensor. The wires were pinched and broken right below the rear upper control arm. Problem was solved by splicing new wires in.
