I was thinking about getting one for my 2012 Liberty Arctic. They look decent enough, but do they work? Or are they purely cosmetic and a waste of money for their intended purpose?

TIA

I'm gonna go out on a limb and say they don't work very well. I can't see it creating a large enough deflection in the air flow around a vehicle to push bugs out of the way of your windshield. Maybe it will keep your hood a bit cleaner, but that's about it.

I have one and will tell you flat out as I drive nothing bit heavily wooded back roads that are riddled with bugs.... My bug deflector is almost always clean. My windshield however looks like I declare war. I think it looks nice though.

It should be called a stone deflector instead, as it will save the front of your hood from getting stone chips. I have one on the front edge of mine....a big chip that is, not a deflector.
