Hello all,

I have a 2005 Liberty that I'm getting a concern about the head caskets. I am a member of a search and rescue team and this vehicle is what we take the dogs out in; so it needs to be up and going at all times.

My concern was started when I got a misfire on #6 and the plugs were changed. Then the other night I saw a small amount of oil leaking and I'm thinking something else was mixed with it but wasn't for sure what it was.

I've been reading a lot about head caskets lately and it seems everyone has an idea about the best way to check if they have a problem. I am hoping this forum could help me out and tell me how I can check the head caskets?

Anyway, correct me if I am wrong, but the head gasket is metal. I highly doubt it would leak, the head itself would warp (it is aluminum).
