Hello everyone! My name is Christian and joined about a month ago. I'm a mechanic by trade and work on and help restore DeLorean's in my spare time. Anyway's my wife has a 2005 Liberty Sport with 328K original miles and been in her family since basically new and is in great shape! The 3.7L does burn about quart every 3K miles which is when I change the oil. My main reason i'm posting is her and I have been together for 12 years and she has always had the typical torque converter shutter at lock up at 45mph. Well a month ago, one of her original coil packs went out and I bought a set on Amazon. She called me on her way to work and said her Jeep drives better than ever and more spunk BUT NOW says the shutter is gone. I told her ass is so used to that she doesn't even notice. So I drove it when she got home and damn if she wasn't lying. The shutter is gone. I have put over 1500 miles and nope, still gone! Anyone have that happen? I know MOPAR says to replace the converter but all I did was a set of inexpensive coil packs from Amazon and now its gone.
