Belt Question

I had my a/c Compressor freeze up on me over the summer so i took the pulley off and rerouted the belt as one of the bypass threads had suggested. i notice that the belt which is only 3 months old looks to be splitting in half down the belt like in the middle of the groove so it would form 2 half width belts. I checked the tensioner and the ribbed wheel feels like its got some roughness to it. is that the culprit or is it the way i have the belt routed that might cause it?

Cheap belt is most likely the cause.Let me guess you installed a dayco belt? That would be the whole issue.

i think it was advanced autos house brand? I was in a pinch and that was all i could get my hands on.
