Before and After Pics

It would be cool to see some dirty libbys here and have some 'after cleaning and detailing' pics along with them.

mine is usually always clean, so seeing the before and after pictures on the computer, you wouldnt really see a difference lol, especially my interior, its spotless and always clean, never even gets dusty lol

Here's my cleaning ritual...

Extremely dirty (rarely):

- .25¢ car wash (using my own wash mitten not their brush)
- air dry on the way back home
- wipe down with a wet terry cloth towel
- wipe down with a dry terry cloth towel
- wax with Meguiar's NXT Wax
- apply a coat of Turtle Wax ICE Detailer as a sealer
- apply Meguiar's Natural Shine Vinyl & Rubber Protectant to all trim
- wipe off wheels with a damp terry cloth towel and dry

Total time: less than two hours

Not so dirty (most of the time):

- dust off vehicle with a California Duster
- wipe vehicle down with Meguiar's NXT Quick Detailer
- wipe vehicle down again using Turtle Wax ICE Detailer as a sealer
- wipe off wheels with a damp terry cloth towel and dry

Total time: less than 45 minutes

Tires:

- KJ: Meguiar's Hot Shine Tire Spray applied with an old wash rag
- TJ: STP Tire Foam then wipe off with an old wash rag
- Civic SI and Crossfire: Black Magic Tire Gel with built in foam applicator

Note: the Meguiar's NXT Wax is not the longest lasting stuff in the world, but I use
it because it goes on and comes off so easy and quickly that I don't mind waxing more often.

'06 KJ... daily driver and some trail time (always parked outside)

Cars are too expensive NOT to take care of them... my pet peeve is seeing some rich
dude driving an expensive vehicle that is not taken care of. Here's a guy I snapped a
picture of in Beverly Hills that does take care of his ride...

They are the stock wheels on freedom edition, I think you can get them from dealer.

whoa... does that include the tires? not that you'd want those stock ones...
those are nice wheels though... second to the moabs. O

salt and street mud. I normally wash my jeep's salt off by driving through the puddles on the side of the road, when it is really nasty outside. That's what you see on the hood, the wave of dirt!

Blake, I used to like to sit close as well, like you said to keep in place, but I found out that it is so much more comfortable to ride with seat back, still abour 90 degree, but all the way back, you know it doesn't go that far back, still good.

I use Armor All low shine wipes. I don't like an extremely shiny dash like car washes do, but I like something on there. It seems to be a good medium for me. And yeah, I sit close to the dash. Just more comfortable to me as I feel like I can make manuevers quicker. drive.gif

EDIT: By the way, it took me five and a half hours to get it that way, but I'm extremely proud of it now. I washed it twice, applied a coat of Zymol wax, then applied some Ice Detailer spray, and then wrapped it up with plastic cleaner and tire shine. That was just the exterior too.

The $950.00 was for '5' wheels. That comes to $190.00 a wheel, which is no more than a quality wheel bought elsewhere. Tires sold seperately...

AZKJ.............nice wheels and tires. Price seems reasonable for those, since you don't realize how expensive nice wheels are until you start pricing them. They match your KJ well so they're worth it.

You know, you're right... it's better than getting those blingerz that cost a grand+ each. Most of them are low quality copycats.
