Time for pads on all four corners and I have NEVER tried ceramic pads on any of my vehicles.

Rock Auto has the Akebono ProACT ceramics on wholesaler closeout for $30/axle and need to know if they are a good choice …even without changing the rotors

Anyone??

TIA!!!

Actually looks like I need new front rotors too …the ones on there are showing signs of overheating as well as some light grooving. I have only 509k on them with still a bit of pad left.

ALSO, the parking brake problem turned out NOT to be the brake lever tension, but rather the fact that the linings came off the parking shoes on both sides…see pic below. I am NOT sure if I have also damaged the rear drum hats by having them float around in there, but I am now thinking about spending the extra cake to buy…

A full set of PowerStop Z23 carbon fiber/ceramic pads and 4 new matched rotors … I DO like extra stopping power and with the bluing on the front rotors, I think I might need it.

That will turn my quick $150 brake job into a $350 brake job, but IMO better braking and potentially avoiding one tiny accident will be well worth it.

ALL thoughts welcome. TIA

Do you have 509K miles on your Liberty?

Ive used Akebono ceramic pads on several vehicles and like them. They came from the factory on my Honda.

No I have "only" 220k on Giddyup … she is still hitting her stride.

Thanks for the feedback on the pads.
