Curious what others have done...
The 12v plug in the front is nice (having it hot all the time is nice for camping, etc) but we've got not only iPhone chargers we need in the car, but a radar detector we'd like to have hooked up... and eventually be adding a Garmin GPS unit...
I've been thinking an extra 12V outlet would be nice... I don't really want to tie into the existing, as I don't want a bunch of stuff running when the engine is off, and running the battery down... Want to know what others have come up with for a mount location, as well as a tie in point electrically. Pictures are welcome for the location, as well as what hardware you used for the plug... I've seen one at the local auto stores that has a 12V plug, plus 2 USB ports... thinking that might be nicer than using a 12v usb charger anyways.
Also, looking for suggestions on the best and least expensive way to get music from our iPhones into the stereo... not keen on the FM transmitter... but I've heard of hard wired FM transmitters that sound like a good way to go... about $200 installed... a digital interface is available from the stereo store locally for closer to $200-300... but then you're getting into a new stereo cost... Thinking there must be something short of the FM transmitter that is inexpensive, and easy to install... welcome opinions and suggestions.
Thanks.
