Ac compressor 05

I have an 05 liberty and the ac compressor is making a lot of noise. It'll quiet down once I drive some but I'm very worried it'll seize up and I'll get stuck. Can't afford a new compressor yet but want to bypass the compressor with a shorter belt until I can get the compressor.. I've seen some posts about 03 or 02 liberty's that were bypassed but I want to be sure it's the same for my 2005...help!

it should be. engine is still the same for the 05.
