1st , Is there anywhere that sells boots for 3.7 Liberty drive shafts , not axle shafts ? 2nd , I'm in the process of installing an engine in my Liberty & in the process I'm installing all new freeze / expansion plugs .
All the kits I've found doesn't include the plugs for the back of the block . There are 3 plugs in the back behind the flywheel / drive-plate / flex-plate . On an automatic I've heard it called all 3 .
The top plug is 1 1/2 " & is behind a shaft & seals off oil , not coolant . The 2 lower plugs are 1 3/8 " & are coolant plugs . There are 6 - 1 3/8 " plugs in the sides of the block , 3 in each side . There is 1 - 1 1/4 " plug in the back of each head .
I'm not replacing the 1 1/2 " plug in the back of the block since it's exposed to oil , not coolant . Unless I'm badly mistaken it takes 8 - 1 3/8 " plugs & 2 - 1 1/4 " plugs . Hope this helps someone .
Please don't forget my question about drive shaft boots .
