A/C clutch.

Having problems with the A/C in my 2003 sport. When I turn on the ac the clutch will only engages when I tap it with a wrench or whatever I have in my Hand.

replace the compressor with a new clutch?

Failing clutch, you can replace just the clutch, and there is some writeups on it online. Its a heck of a job and takes some tools and know-how.

For the cost and time you could just as easily have a shop evacuate the system, replace the compressor yourself, then return to the shop and have them vacuum down and check for leaks and recharge.
