Howdy all
So after hours of searching
I can't find the answer to this question
I have purchased a set of 790's to go with my new ARB bumper and winch.
I'm trying to see if I still need top plate and conduit nuts to reach 3" lift.
This might just have to be an install see where it sits and go from there but I would really rather only do it once.
Any input would be appreciated.
Thanks

Answer, yes. You CANNOT get 3" lift with just springs, it's not physically possible due to the length of the strut/shock. You will have to add spacers, etc. to get that lift. With a winch (steel wire?) and ARB, I would be surprised if you get a full 2" with the 790s.

Thanks that’s what I was thinking but wasn’t sure.
I’ll be running synthetic rope instead of wire and I’m going with kk clevis and a 1/4” top plate.

Synthetic rope probably saves you 20lbs over the front axles but the ARB bumper adds 70lbs. Hard to say what will be the right combination for you.

To get the "right" height you will have to experiment. I went through 3 different EMU springs and a couple varieties of spacers before I found a setup that I liked and lasted. That setup also had to change when I added my warn winch and detours bracket (went from Medium EMU's to CRD EMU's + clevis lift).
