255/ or 265 size ?

I have just lifted my beloved KJ 2" with OME lift kit.

The "default" tire size on this 2003 CRD is 235/70-16

I am going to buy BF Goodrich A/T tires for my KJ, just because Revos are unknown to local tire dealers, and that they indeed have BFGs in stock at good prices

What size should I go for is my greatest concern now, 255 /70 or 265 /70 ?

245/75/16's that is what nearly everyone is running. I have 265/70/16's but they required some front fender trimming and pinch weld destruction. The 255/70/16's are only .4 inches larger in diameter but they are also .2 inches shorter on the sidewall compared to the 245/75/16's. They both should be nearly equal in price for the BFG's.

I am only assuming they offer 245/75/16's and you can't or do not want to order tires? If you want something in stock go with the 255/70/16's over the 265/70/16's.

I ran 255/70/16 tires with the OME lift and had some rubbing on the rear when flexing and on the front when turning. I wouldnt go any bigger than 255.. I run 245/70/16 now. O

I did have rims with 5" BS where the stock rims are 5.5BS. Im not to sure what BS MoladoGuy's rims have.

I have 5" BS using 265/70/16's. Yes there was some nasty rubbing but 95% is taken care of. If I take it off road I know they will blow me out haha. However, my 1% time off-road does not equate for me to ditch the tires and get different sizes.

You can run the 245/75/16's on your stock rims. It is totally up to you and what you want to spend though. If you do go with the steel ones understand that they are "MUCH" heavier than stock. Cragar 397 Soft 8's is what I run and they give a 5"BS over the 5.5"BS the stock rims have. That means the tire sits out farther from the inner wheel well. You should not have any rubbing issues if you go with the steel rims using 5"BS and 245/75/16 tires. Stock wheels or new wheels, the tires will make your KJ look sweet.
