A few years ago my rear wiper would get stuck and start clicking. I bought a motor from the junk yard and replaced it. It worked fine. It stopped working a few years later. My wife had the car inspected and the mechanic told her she needed a rear wiper motor. I found one for $50 with the arm and blade. I removed the old motor and put in the new motor except for the arm. I wanted to make sure the motor was in the right position before installing the arm. It didn't work. I checked fuse 17 and it was fine. I thought there might be a problem with the window open switch so I pulled off the panel again and got my DVM. Before I got a chance to check pin 3 I noticed there was no power to pin 5 or voltages to pins 2 & 4 regardless of selector switch being in either on or delay position. My diagram shows there are 2 connectors between the power and the motor they are C306 and C309. Does anyone know where they are located?

Welcome to the forum.

Did the mechanic say it was needed to pass inspection? Hell, I'm actually shocked he checked the wipers. A typical inspection for me is a look at the brakes, tires and lights. Then a gas cap check.

The wife wanted the wiper fixed and asked them how much while it was getting the yearly inspection. I didn't know it wasn't working since I never use it. She told me how much they wanted and I figured I knew how to change it so I did. I took the shop's word that the motor was shot. They won't pass it if the front wipers are broken but not the back.

Well thats good the rear wiper isn't effecting the inspection. Like I said I'm shocked they actually checked lol.

Long before i got my Jeep. I took my old car to this one shop where you didn't even have to leave the car. The place didn't even have a lift. Just pull in, they check your lights, ask you how the brakes, tires and steering feel. Ask to pop the hood for a 10 second look. Then they do the emissions and done. In and out in 15 minutes.

I know it wasn't right but I was a kid in college. That car never did fail me though.

It's a big scam here in PA doing the yearly inspection. They don't even check the emissions. It never fails that most shops find something that needs to get repaired before they'll pass it. What's crazy is the last time I did the rear brakes the star adjuster was frozen on the emergency brake shoes. I replaced the pads, shoes and rotors before I had it inspected. The emergency brake doesn't fully hold. It passed inspection and the last few times it got inspected they never noticed. In other states they make you put on the emergency brake and give it some gas to see if it holds. I'm just glad it's an automatic and my driveway's flat.

Kind of strayed away from the original question. Does anyone have a wiring diagram or know where the connectors are between the fuse box and the rear wiper motor?

Billwill,
Thanks so much. It's exactly what I've been looking for. I pulled off the rear quarter panel and found C309. No voltage there so next is C306. I'm having the wife clean out the mess so I can get to it.

Arggg. I found C306 under the rear seat. A bunch of the wires were cut from the connector and spliced together. Somebody did major surgery on it. No 12 volts at pin 4. I have 12 volts at the fuse 17 in the junction block. I guess my next step is to pull off the fuse panel and trace the wire and splice into the connector. I'm trying to figure out who screwed with the connector. Was it that way when my wife bought it at the dealership or did one of the mechanics she brought it to screw up and fix it without saying anything? It was working when I changed the motor the first time.
