2002 3.7 Hard to start

My 02 3.7 now cranks a few times before starting, plugs and filters are new. Once it is started it runs fine. I've heard the fuel pump check valve goes,is this common? Should it be the first thing to change? Any suggestions would be appreciated.

if plugs and filters are new then I would check a fuel pressure in fuel rail, plug coils and battery.

Crank sensor going bad? Might want to check that as well

Yes, check fuel pressure while running, and then check to see if it holds after you shut it off.
