Joined the window lift plate club yesterday. Question. I'm doing just the plate itself. How many of you have replaced just the plate with another factory one, and had it last a while. Anyone?

I bought my Liberty with over 80k on it a while back (6-7 years/172k now). After hearing all the complaints about the windows, I just figured the PO must have already upgraded since I haven't had a failure in the time I've had it.

I don't think you can just buy the factory plate, but the upgraded metal ones are pretty cheap on eBay.

The part you are talking about - is it the metal and rubber bracket on the rear tailgate window?

If it is, mine is starting to peel off the window ever since I installed new lifters. Is there anyway to repair it or replace it without replacing the window?

No problem nullptr

Would anyone know how to fix the bracket a rubber piece coming off the rear window (above the tailgate)? Or should I start a new thread on this?

Also, wondering then what is and where is the window lift plate? My passenger and driver side back windows fell down last week. Holding the windows up with tape right now. Planning to buy the window regulators from Rock Auto since the dealership and repair shops are talking over $200 for each and another $150 or more to install - each :favorites68:

You can probably just replace the broken plate. I did one this afternoon and the part was $18. :)
