04 Liberty Transmission replacement

I bought a used automatic transmission for my 04 kj and I will replace it in the next couple of days. Just wanted to know if I have to do a TCM Quick Learn.

The guy that sold me the transmission told me to make sure I did the quick relearn process after installing the ******. I've looked around but did not find much information about this.

Could any one help me out? How important is this and how can it be done without going to the dealer?

If it's the 42RLE no need for quick learn just drive it for a few days with overdrive off don't drive it hard and it will learn all by its self

Dealer has to do the quick learn as you need a DRB3 machine and the software

As long as the transmission gets up to operating temperature you will be fine, but don't drive it hard for the first few trips or so.
