As my beloved KJ had some engine issues (Needed a rebuild and a clutch) I decided to sell it. I am looking at another one. This one is a 04' Sport. 3.7 Auto (I can't find another manual around here) 94k miles.. Body is mint! Not even a scratch. Bone stock. 4wd. Runs great and all that jazz. $8,995 and that is with finacing/intrest included. Power windows, power locks and CD player. Not much else on it.

What do you think? It books for $10,005 from KBB.

It sounds good! I would say go for it. How much do you want for your kj? With the issues lets say you sold it for $4000. You d be getting a nice new kj for $6000!!!!

Nah, my old KJ I bought for 5,500. It was an 02 4cyl 5 speed. I sold some of the body panels and rims and tires, and then sold the rest for 1,900. I used that $1,900 for bills and books.

I did however just find another 02' but this one is a limited with 92k miles.. Great shape fully loaded. $6,995.. Is there any diffrence between the years? I mean.. lower mileage and more options at a cheaper price?

Slightly North of the 49° th. Parallel... In HongC
The '02 has a stronger transmission. A cigar lighter and power outlet in the centre consul, the rear brakes are drum on an '02 and disc's on '04 and newer. I believe the '02 has illuminated door lock buttons and the power window switches light up as well as the power mirror switch.(I could be wrong though!)
The passengers side of the dash has the words Jeep and Liberty moulded into the plastic.

I don't know...
I've been up for the last 72 hours...
I could be completely wrong!

The '02 has a transmission with a higher torque capacity than the 3.7L can produce. A cigar lighter and power outlet in the centre console, the rear brakes are drum on an '02 and disc's on '03 and newer. Ah.. Thank you for making my final decition. Seems like the 04 would be a dumb choice besides the disc rear brake, which I really won't be needing anything other then stock brakes.

Thanks again!
I'm going to try and get it this week, i'll have to wait for finacing and getting plates and all that jazz, i'll post some pics when I get it!

An '04 isn't a dumb choice. I'd actually take it over an '02 simply because it's newer, I'm not scared of the transmission like everyone else is on here, but the '02 is much cheaper, hmm...

I would have just kept and fixed your old one... would probably be quite a bit cheaper than putting money into another one with an unknown maintenance history. I realize it's too late now, but that's what I would have done.

Get whichever one you like better... they both have their pros and cons.
